Aldi has a new dupe of an iconic festive tipple – and it costs a third of the price

Published on November 23, 2022 at 01:41 PM

ALDI has released a new festive dupe right in time for Christmas.

The budget supermarket is now selling a £5.49 amaretto liqueur and customers are thrilled.

Aldi shoppers can grab the new tipple online and in store
Customers can grab 500ml worth of the amaretto liqueur for just £5.49

One shopper described the festive tipple as “absolute bliss”; on Facebook.

Aldi describes its Bellucci Amaretto Velvet Liqueur as having “creamy almond flavours that meet delicious vanilla notes”;.

The liqueur is a dupe of the more expensive Disaronno Velvet Liqueur which retails at £16.50, meaning that customers buying the Aldi dupe will save over £11.

The budget supermarket recommends sipping the tipple over ice or adding a dash into a warm mug of cocoa to create a delicious hot drink.

Aldi has also suggested that the liqueur works wonders in its smooth operator espresso martini, made up of:

  • 20ml of vodka
  • 40ml of the velvet liqueur
  • 15ml of sugar syrup or 1 teaspoon of honey
  • One small espresso
  • Ice

Aldi shoppers can bag the bargain liqueur in-store and online.

You can find your nearest store online using the Aldi store locator on its website.

Those still loyal to the Disaronno version can still shop around for a better deal.

While the tasty tipple usually retails at £16.50 some supermarkets have dropped their prices.

Morrisons is selling a 500ml bottle for £11.99 and Asda for £12.

Waitrose has also dropped the price of a bottle to £13.

Aldi isn’t the only supermarket to introduce new festive tipples.

M&S has introduced a new gold glitter-infused bubbly dubbed “Marks and Sparkle”; and customers have been rushing to stores to get their hands on the £10 tipple.

Last month, the supermarket brought back its seasonal snow globe gins.

The popular bottles of M&S gin liqueur feature flecks of gold glitter and they also light up.

There are two flavours this year – clementine and spiced sugar plum.

And in previous years the drinks have been a sell-out and M&S even slapped them with a buying limit because of the huge demand.

And the price of a bottle of snow globe gin has gone down this year.

Customers can pick up the tipple for just £16 – that’s £4 less than last Christmas when it would have set you back £20.

But Aldi’s sells similar dupes for £13.99 – a whole £2 cheaper than the M&S snow globe liqueurs.

This year Aldi has revealed three new bottle designs, two of which light up, each with a flurry of 23-carat gold flakes.

The Infusionist Gold Flake light-up gin liqueurs were released in stores on Monday, November 7.

The discount supermarket offers three flavours – morello cherry, clementine and blackcurrant and blackberry.
