Christmas lovers have been rushing to get their hands on these lanterns from Aldi

Dozens of Facebook users have flooded the Aldi UK shoppers group with photos of their lanterns.

Admins of the group even had to limit the number of posts about them at one point because there were so many.

The glass lanterns come in three variations, a silver snowflake design and a red or silver reindeer one.

Eager shoppers have been quick to comment on the posts, with one person saying the lanterns are “so beautiful”.

Another tagged her pal and said: “I need a silver one in my life, could u see if u could get me one whilst I’m away?”

One woman heavily hinted that she would like one for Christmas: “if you see these on your travels, nice little Christmas pressie hint hint.”

Others had picked up several of the lanterns in fear they would go out of stock.

One commenter said: “Ordered a red and silver one online to make sure I didn’t miss out.

“Can’t wait for them to arrive!”

You can pick up the lanterns in store or online for £7.99 but if you’re ordering online make sure you bear in mind delivery costs.

On the website happy reviewers have described their purchases as “good quality and size” with a “fabulous price”.

Both reviewers and members of the Aldi Facebook group have shared their tips on how best to use the lanterns.

Some have opted for fairy lights, some battery operated tealights and some chose regular tealights.

When they are lit up the light shines through the design etched into the side or you can just use it as an ornament.

As always, we do always recommend having a look around for cheaper options to make sure you’re getting the most for your money.

After a quick Google we found some alternatives that weren’t quite as cheap.

A seller on Etsy has posted a similar looking gold lantern for £9.95 and the Southwood Christmas Shop has one for £14.99.

It’s still worth having a look around first to make sure we haven’t missed an even better offer – there’s never a bad time to bag a bargain.
