BUDDY The Elf makes a surprise appearance in Asda’s new Christmas advert for 2022 – and fans say it’s the best one yet.
Viewers have taken to social media to praise the supermarket’s festive campaign, with some saying it even beats previous John Lewis ads.
Asda’s latest Christmas advert sees the return of Will Ferrell’s character Buddy the Elf from the movies under the same name.
Will Ferell didn’t have to film a single scene – but he did ensure that he had a say over the final product.
And if the social media reaction is anything to go by, this year’s offering could be even more popular.
On Facebook, fans have said Asda should win the “award for “Christmas advert of the year 2022”.
Another Facebook user said: “Forget about the John Lewis Christmas ad, Asda have just nailed Christmas for this year.”
While another declared that Asda had “won the battle” for the best Christmas advert of the year.
But one Twitter went even further, claiming the advert is the best Christmas campaign of the last ten years.
They wrote: “Asda just won Christmas ad of the DECADE.”
One person tweeted: “Asda has taken the Christmas ad seriously this year havenât they! BUDDY THE ELF.”
Asda’s 2021 Christmas advert featured a family gliding through the festive season on their ice skates.
The Asda On Ice clip saw an ordinary family enter an Asda store before being transported through a series of traditional Christmas events sure to make viewers nostalgic.
