ASDA has issued an urgent recall on its mince pies over fears they could contain plastic.
The supermarket chain is asking customers to return three flavours of its in-store bakery extra special mince pies.
This includes four apple and pecan crumble mince pies, four extra indulgent mince pies and four crumble top mince pies.
The four apple and pecan crumble mince pies being recalled are those with a best before date up to and including December 13.
The four extra indulgent mince pies that should be returned are those with a best before date up to and including December 28.
And the four crumble top mince pies being recalled are those with a best before date up to and including December 13.
Customers who have bought any of the products are being urged to return them to their nearest Asda store as they could contain plastic making them unsafe to eat.
All returns will be fully refunded and you don’t need a receipt.
Anyone looking for further information can contact Asda Customers Relations on 0800 952 0101.
Food products are often “recalled” if there’s an issue with them, such as them containing dangerous materials or bacteria.
You might be entitled to a refund on a recalled product if it was deemed to be unsafe.
If it’s food and caused you to become ill, for example.
If it’s something like a household appliance or car, the business who made it might be able to fix it free of charge.
If a fault makes a product unsafe to use — and it’s difficult to correct the fault — the Consumer Guarantees Act says you might have the right to reject the product and claim a replacement or a refund.
You can read more about your rights on recalled products in our guide.
