Amazon reveals its 10 top toys for Christmas including Jurassic World action figure and Lego Friends set

AMAZON has revealed its top 10 must-have toys for Christmas, including a Jurassic World action figure and a Lego Friends set.

Prices start at a reasonable £8.99 for a Squishmallows Tally the Grey Cat and range up to £89.99 for a Lego Friends Horse Show Trailer.

We’ve compared the current prices to other retailers using Google Shopping to see if you can get a better deal elsewhere – and in some cases we found you can.

It’s worth keeping an eye out on Amazon though because prices may drop on Black Friday, which this year takes place on November 25.

Before splashing your cash on these toys, remember to check sites such as Price Spy and Idealo to find out if you can buy items cheaper at another store.

Free online price trackers like Price History and CamelCamelCamel will also give you an idea of whether you can save cash by buying it later in the year.

Here are the top toys Amazon reckons your children will want under the tree this year, in price order starting with the cheapest.

Squishmallows Tally the Grey Cat – £8.99

This ultra-squeezable, 7.5-inch, small-sized plush is made with high-quality and ultrasoft materials.

The soft plush is perfect to snuggle with while relaxing at home, watching a movie, or taking a long car or plane ride.

It’s the cheapest item on Amazon’s Christmas list.

We did find it on Plush World for £6 on sale but you would have to pay for delivery, whereas Amazon Prime customers wouldn’t.

Pictionary Air Star Wars Family Drawing Game – £19.99

Choose a droid companion for each team, then show off those Jedi drawing skills with Pictionary Air Star Wars, a galactic twist on the classic drawing game.

Amazon’s price is one of the lowest on the market, but we did find the game on Very for £18.99 – only £1 less.

You won’t find this product any cheaper – Toys R Us is selling the set for £26.99, whereas Smyths and Very have it online for £21.99 (just 4p more than Amazon).

Throw Throw Avocado by Exploding Kittens – £24.99

You can get this game on eBay for slightly less at £24.34 but you would have to pay £5.95 postage.

Playmobil City Life Recycling Truck – £24.99

Playmobil rubbish collection, recycling truck with flashing lights and removable roof, two rubbish collectors, two bins, one container and much more.

This toy rubbish truck has a tilting bed for emptying the truck and lever for lifting and emptying bins.

Perfect for children aged 4+.

Currently, you can get this set on the Hamleys website for £20 but with a £3.99 delivery fee there isn’t much difference.

Melissa & Doug Super Smile Dentist Kit – £34.99

This 26-piece dentist play set is a great way to teach good dental health practices to kids.

Osmo – Little Genius Starter Kit – £74.51

Children interact with actual hand held pieces and Fire Tablet, bringing a child’s game pieces and actions to life.

An Osmo Base is included, Fire Tablet is not included, both are required for game play.

One reviewer said: “I bought this for my special needs adult granddaughter and she absolutely loves it.”;

This is the cheapest version of the game using a Fire Tablet that we could find.

Alternatively, Amazon sells a iPad version for £60.54.

Lego Friends Horse Show Trailer – £89.99

This dream LEGO horse trailer includes a toy car with trailer, 2 toy horse figures and a dog figure plus riding accessories for horse show fun.

We could not find the exact same set online but found a smaller, similar set from the same range for £17.99 on Bargain Max.

Argos has also revealed its top toys list for Christmas 2022.

There are 15 toys in the round up, with prices ranging from £10 to £170 for a Lego McLaren Formula 1 race car model set.

Amazon has also donated hundreds of this year’s top 10 toys to charity partner Barnardo’s, giving vulnerable children across the UK the chance to enjoy playtime over the festive period.

Celebrity Kimberley Walsh unveiled the toys at the ‘Joy of Toys’ experience on London’s South Bank today, giving children to chance to unlock their imagination – with an interactive play area and free hair-braiding to entertain visitors.
