A NEW Super Nintendo World land is opening at Universal Studios next year – and game fans will love it.
Inside will be rides and attractions based on the loved Mario games, featuring all of the popular characters.
Guests will enter the park via the iconic green pipe and through Princess Peach’s castle, entering the Mushroom Kingdom.
The main ride will be the Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge ride.
Guests sit in four-seat cars while using head-mounted AR goggles and moving along a ride track to collect coins and defeat Bowser.
The ride will be set in Bowser’s Castle although there are lots of other challenges in the land from popular characters such as Goomba, Koopa Troopa, Piranha Plant and Thwomp.
Food will be served at the Toadstool cafe, with food such as Super Mushroom Soup and Toadstool Cheesy Garlic Knots, as well as snacks including ?-Block Tiramisu and Princess Peach Cupcakes.
Souvenirs will be available at the 1-UP Factory shop with Mario and Luigi themed items such as outfits, hats and plushies.
Guests will also be able to wear “Power-Up Bands” which will let you keep your team scores, collect digital keys and get special interations with the characters.
Tom Williams, chairman and CEO of Universal Parks & Resorts previously explained: ” You will be able to go up and keep score and play with the various games and that also translates to a score-keeping capability, if you choose to do so within the rides and it actually interfaces back with your game console.”
It opens on February 17, 2023.
The first Super Nintendo World opened in Japan last year, with other rides including Yoshi’s Adventures, an omnimover-style ride (used by Disney rides such as Haunted Mansion and Buzz Lightyear Astro Blaster).
