Starbucks is making a major change from today – and customers will love it

STARBUCKS is making a major change in its stores today and customers will love it.

Coffee lovers can now take advantage of the chain’s new festive menu as well as four new red coffee cups.

The coffee chain has launched four new Christmas themes cups which are available in-store from today
Starbucks launched its first festive cup 25 years ago back in 1997

But nothing marks the countdown to Christmas quite like the release of Starbucks’ iconic red cups.

Each year, the coffee giant impresses by rolling out specially-designed drink vessels.

The chain first introduced its holiday cups back in 1997.

Sandy Nelson, then a Starbucks designer, created that first set of holiday cups.

But they weren’t red. Instead, they were wrapped like a gift in rich shades of magenta, sapphire, emerald and purple.

This year, Starbucks is introducing a new set of four designs for the holidays, wrapped like a gift for their customers just as they were 25 years ago.

One cup is named “Gift-Wrapped Magic” and this features wavy ribbons and shimmering sparkles giving this red and green cup a magical vibe, all wrapped up like the perfect gift.

The “Frosted Sparkle” cup features retro starbursts and diamond shapes on a frosty mint green cup.

Another cup dubbed “Ornament Wonder” has multiple colourful holiday motifs including Christmas trees, stars and diamonds.

The “Cozy Evergreen” mug features a bold red cup with white evergreen trees in a graphic pattern.

The new cups are available on the same day that Starbucks launched its new festive menu.

You can find your nearest Starbucks store online or the drinks will also be available to order through the Starbucks UK app to collect in-store.

Customers can also get food and drink delivered via Deliveroo, Just Eat and Uber Eats but there will be a delivery fee.

We’ve listed what’s on offer from today below.

Which items are coming back this year?

Back for another year is the toffee nut latte which is available hot, iced or as a Frappuccino. Prices start at £3.55.

Combining dessert and coffee is the caramel waffle latte which debuted last year.

It comes with a waffle sauce and is topped with caramel whipped cream and a spiced caramel waffle crunch topping.

The gingerbread latte is a festive favourite and is back with customers able to grab it hot, iced or as a Frappucino.

Prices for this drink start at £3.55.

Finally, another popular choice that’s making a comeback is the eggnog latte which is available hot or iced from £3.65.

What else is new on the festive food menu?

There are also some brand new food items on this year’s menu including the ginger mini loaf cake to go with your gingerbread latte.

The cake costs £2.29 and is topped with white chocolate icing and crushed ginger biscuits.

And to go with your toffee nut latte there is also a brand new toffee nut muffin for £2.19, and mini loaf cake for £2.29.

For a savoury Christmas fix, you can also get a pigs under blanket roll for £4.89.

This is a crusty Vienna roll with pork sausage, smoked bacon, sage and onion mayonnaise, cheddar cheese and cranberry chutney.

Which food items are returning?

The festive feast panini, £4.89, the brie and cran-merry Focaccia, £4.89, and the ’tis the season turkey sandwich, £4.19, are all coming back to stores this year.

For a sweet fix, the red velvet loaf cake, £2.29 and the Christmas tree brownie, £2, are also making a return.

The chocolate and caramel muffin for plant-based customers is back again too, for £2.09.

It comes as Costa also announced its Christmas menu this month.

Our reporter gave the new items a try and was pretty impressed.
