Cheapest places to buy electric blankets this week including Argos, Dunelm and Lidl – and prices start at £19

TEMPERATURES are low and heating bills are up but electric blankets can be a cheap way to keep warm this winter.

Electric blankets are a great way to help you try and cut back on your energy bills.

Electric blankets don’t cost the earth to run and they let you warm up without having to heat the whole house.

It costs just 24p to run a 100W electric blanket for one hour a day for seven days, according to Uswitch.

And if you were to use an electric blanket for one hour a day, every day of the week for a year, it would cost you £12.48 in total.

But do some research and compare prices before you make a purchase to make sure you’re getting the best value for money.

Prices vary – with some as low as £19 and others well above £100.

We list the cheapest blankets available right now from retailers including Argos, Currys, Dunelm, Lidl and The Range.

Argos

Argos sells 39 different electric blankets costing between £30 and £140.

If you’re after an electric blanket which fits a single bed, the Slumberdown Warm Hugs Electric Blanket comes at the cheapest costing £30 – but we’ve seen cheaper blankets of this size at other shops.

The same blanket is also available in a bigger size to fit double beds for £5 more at £35.

Again, this blanket is more expensive than electric blankets of the same size at other retailers.

Both products are available in-store and for home delivery – but be aware that there may be additional charges for delivery.

Currys

Currys stocks 27 electric blankets costing between £19 and £68.99.

The retailer stocks the cheapest single electric blanket we’ve found costing just £19.

The Status Electric Underblanket comes with three heat settings and an automatic safety cut-off.

Curry’s also sells the Daewoo Heated Blanket for double beds.

It costs £23.99 and is the cheapest double-sized gadget that we’ve spotted in our high-street sweep.

Be aware that you’ll be charged for delivery if you buy these blankets online but they’re free to collect in your local Currys store.

Dunelm

Dunelm sells 14 different electric blankets which cost between £22 and £199.

The Russell Hobbs Electric Under Blanket comes in at £22 for a single bed and £32 for a double bed.

The blanket is machine washable at 40°C and comes with three heat settings.

Again, these aren’t the cheapest blankets and you could get more for your money elsewhere.

You’ll be charged for delivery if you buy these blankets online but they’re free to collect in your local Dunelm store.

Lidl

Lidl fans can pick up a Silentnight Comfort Control Electric blanket from the middle aisle with stocks permitting.

A single electric blanket comes in at £24.99 – £1 more expensive than the cheapest on offer at Currys.

And the double electric blanket comes in at £24.99 – this again is £1 more expensive than the cheapest on offer at Currys.

You’ll need to head to your nearest Lidl if you want to bag yourself the deal – the supermarket doesn’t offer online delivery.

And remember, the product is only available while stocks last, so you might find that your closest store doesn’t have the gadget in stock.

The Range

The Range sells 53 different electric blankets which cost between £24.99 and £114.99.

The budget retailer’s cheapest double electric blanket comes in at £29.99.

The OHS Heated Electric Under Sheet Blanket is machine washable at 40°C and comes with three heat settings.
