DIY store B&Q is one of many stores that will close its doors on Christmas day to give their workers a chance to celebrate the festivities.
The chain has made changes to opening times over the holidays, meaning customers may want to check in advance before planning a visit. Here’s all you need to know.
Is B&Q open over the Christmas Bank Holiday?
All B&Q stores are shut on Christmas day as staff celebrate the festive period.
Stores will be open on Christmas eve but only until 4pm.
They will then be shut on boxing day before reopening on December 27.
Normal opening times will continue from then until New year’s eve, where they will again close at 4pm.
Stores will reopen on New year’s day with reduced opening hours.
The last order date for next day store click and collect, or pre-Christmas delivery, is December 21.
Are shops closed on the Bank Holiday?
The majority of retailers have confirmed the days people will be able to shop in their stores over the Christmas period.
Most shops and supermarkets will be closed for certain days in order to give staff some much-needed time off.
Almost all stores across the UK are shut on Christmas Day, but there are also a handful of retailers that won’t open on Boxing Day either.
Opening hours can vary from branch to branch, so check your local store times before you make the trip.
Most big retailers will have their opening times listed on their websites.
