SHOPPERS planning on heading to Lidl over Christmas should make note of its opening hours.
The festive period usually changes store opening times but there’s also an extra Bank Holiday this year.
As Christmas Day falls on a Sunday this year, there’s an extra Bank Holiday on Tuesday December 27.
That’s on top of the usual Boxing Day bank holiday on Monday, December 26.
You’ve also got a Bank Holiday on January 2 following New Year’s.
Lidl won’t be closed for the whole period, but hours may vary.
To find your nearest store’s specific opening hours, you can use the locator tool on the Lidl’s website.
What are Lidl’s opening times?
Stores will be closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and on New Year’s Day.
From December 27 to 30, most Lidl shops will be open from 8am to 10pm.
On New Year’s Eve they’ll close a bit earlier at 7pm.
Then on January 2 shops will be open at 8am until 8pm.
Of course, times can vary from store to store so it might be worth ringing your local Lidl to find out.
Can I order my shopping online from Lidl?
No, Lidl does not offer delivery or a click-and-collect service for its customers.
That means you have to venture out to stock up from your nearest store.
You can, however, browse some of its deals online if you want to make a list before you head out.
What are other shops’ opening times during Christmas?
Almost all stores across the UK are shut on Christmas Day, but there are also a handful of retailers that won’t open on Boxing Day either.
Most of us will slowly return to usual working hours over the following week, and so will UK shops and supermarkets.
We’ve got the full list of supermarkets’ opening hours here – make sure you’re aware of what your local shop is doing before you head out.
